This week, Roadrunner Athletics honors wrestling standout Kyle Simpson on his outstanding Winter 2023-24 campaign.

Weight Class: 141 pounds

High Schools: Concord High School (Delaware) 3 years; Mt. Pleasant High, senior year, Class of 2020.

About Kyle Simpson: Kyle is the son of former Gloucester County College All-American Larry Simspon, who wrestled on the 1996 NJCAA National Championship team.

His Dad's influence has played a major role in Kyle's wrestling career.

"He coached my youth league teams and later at my high school," said Kyle about his Dad Larry. "He really pushed me and brought me into the sport since I was a little kid, and everything became so much easier to execute as I got older."

High School career: In four varsity seasons a two high school, Kyle qualified for the DIAA state championship tournament all four years.

2023-2024 College Season: Simpson currently holds a 9-8 overall record wrestling at 141 pounds. He hopes to perform well in upcoming region and national competition.

Major: Business administration, a degree that he hopes will further his current career as a grocery manager at a Food Lion markets. Hopes to finish his wrestling career at a four-year school.

Hobbies: Between his studies, his participation in wrestling and a full-time job in the supermarket industry, Kyle has not had much time for hobbies -- with one exception.

"I still try and watch my favorite NFL team, the Steelers, every weekend," he commented. "Other thsn that I'm pretty busy!"

Kyle Simpson on his Experience with Roadrunner Wrestling: "The skill level here is way higher than high school -- it's been a pretty big jump for me, but I'm making the adjustments I need to."
