Maxine Ampofo, Women's Basketball

This week, Roadrunner Athletics honors women's basketball standout Maxine Ampofo on her outstanding Winter 2023-24 campaign in helping the Runners win eight straight games in compiling an 8-2 overall record.

Year: Sophomore
Sport: Women's Basketball

Positions: Small Forward / Center.

High School: Williamstown High School, Class of 2022.

High School career: Maxine participated on the Lady Braves' girls basketball team for three seasons. her best year came as a junior when she collected 104 points, 96 rebounds and 42 assists in 15 games played.

2023-2024 College Season: Maxine has proven to be a steady force in the paint for Coach Rich Cooper's team throughout the 2023-24 season.

In 9 games for the Roadrunners this season, Maxine has averaged 13.9 points per game along with 12.8 PPG. She has shot a steady 44.6% field goal percentage and has averaged 3.9 assists per game

Major: Exercise Science. Maxine hopes to gain employment in the field of occupational therapy or kinesiology when she graduates. She also hopes to continue her basketball playing career at a four-year NCAA college.

Hobbies: Likes Gospel music, going to Church and reading.

Maxine Ampofo on her Experience with RCSJ Women's Basketball: "My production this year has improved because of stepping onto the court as a sophomore," she said. "I'm one of the sophomore leaders this year along with some of my teammates, and we take charge when we're on the floor."

Coach Rich Cooper on Maxine Ampofo: "Maxine continues to show steady improvement with her play in the forward position, and she has been a big reason we continue to win games and grow as a team," he said.
