Today we highlight sophomore volleyball standout Taylor Caldas, who helped the team enjoy its first-ever Region XIX playoff appearance last season under Coach Rebecca Pierson. See her profile below.

High School: Gloucester Catholic, Class of 2018.
Worth Noting: Taylor and her sister Victoria Caldas joined forces last season to help spark the Runners’ playoff berth, the first in school history
Taylor is the lone sophomore on Coach Rebecca Pierson’s team this Fall.
Position:. Outside hitter.
Statistics: Taylor enjoyed a solid 2018 campaign for the Roadrunners. She collected 49 kills, 183 total attacks, 41 service aces, 95 points, and 136 digs in 16 overall matches as the Runners surged to an NJCAA Region XIX playoff berth.
At Gloucester Catholic High School she was a standout three-year starter for Coach Pete Peterson.
Hobbies/Favorite Activities: She loves to volunteer at animal shelters. Also works at a Vet Clinic and helps to provide vaccines for dogs. Taylor loves her studies at RCSJ as well as playing volleyball.
Major: Attending school to become a Veterinary Assistant. Hopes to finish her four-year degree at the University of Delaware or University of Pennsylvania.
Taylor Caldas’ Outlook on 2019 Season: “It’s a very different experience coming in this year. Last year I was with my sister and all of our sophomores. But this season there are a lot of new girls here who are very good players, so I’m looking to take on a leadership role to help us get started in the right direction.”
Coach Rebecca Pierson on Taylor Caldas: “Taylor’s the only one with college volleyball experience. All of our players come from competitive high school situations, but the college level presents different challenges. Taylor will provide guidance to our younger players, and we know her positive attitude will benefit everyone on the team.”
