Roadrunner Baseball Closes Out GSAC Campaign in Perfect Fashion

Perfection. That's what the Roadrunner Baseball team achieved Saturday with a doubleheader sweep over visiting Salem Community College Saturday as they completed their conference schedule with a 24-0 record this spring.

Coach Rob Valli's Runners, 43-5 overall, won the Garden State Athletic Conference title earlier in the week before closing out their league competition with impressive 17-1 and 8-1 wins over the visiting Oaks.

In Game 1, Aaron Graeber collected three bits and 4 RBIs while teammates Felix Diaz, Cole Fowler and Justin Kilyk added three hits apiece in a 17-1 triumph. Sophomore A.J. Tropiano cracked a solo home run during the offensive assault.

Winning pitcher Danny Kerr hurled six innings, scattering five hits and striking out 6. Colin Hughes added a scoreless inning in relief.

In Game 2, the Runners completed their perfect campaign against GSAC opponents in an 8-1 victory. Graeber slammed a two-run home run while Rocko Brzezniak knocked in a pair of runs to spark the win. Sophomore right hander Steven Maiers earned the win to improve his record to 3-0 this season.

The Roadrunners, No. 2 in the NJCAA Division III national rankings, wrap up the regular season with home games this week against Monroe College Bronx on Sunday and a doubleheader vs. Montgomery County CC (PA) on Tuesday.
