Rosa, Lancaster, Hunt Are RCGC Winners at Osprey Open

The RCGC Track and Field teams faced the full gamut of April weather this weekend at the Osprey Open hosted by Stockton University, but displayed strong performances once again. The teams were able to return home with 28 NJCAA National qualifying performances, a slew of top 10 finishes in the meet and a new school record for the third week in a row.

Event winners for the Roadrunners all came from the field events, where RCGC dominated in multiple disciplines.  Elisia Lancaster (Delsea) won the hammer throw and the shot put while placing 2nd in the discus.  Edgar Rosa (Paulsboro) won the javelin and also placed 5th in the discus.  Adam Hunt (Collingswood) won the discus in a new school record of 50.29m, and also took 2nd in the hammer throw and 3rd in the shot put.  Emily Hilt (Kingsway) placed 3rd in both the shot put and discus while taking 6th in the hammer.

 Other top finishers for RCGC were as follows:

4th place finishes came from Adetomiwa Awogbamila (Pitman) in the shot put and Allison Bone (Schalick) in the heptathlon.

5th place finishes came from Noah Cziryak (Triton) in the 10,000m, Rayannia Robinson (Schalick) in the high jump, and Emileigh Zane (Pennsgrove) in the heptathlon.

6th place finishes came from Nicole Caramanna (Pitman) in the javelin and Jaylen Hoover (Schalick) in the high jump.

7th place performances came from Devante Watson (Winslow Twp.) in the 110 hurdles and Josh Varghese (Williamstown) in the shot put.

8th place performances came from Mike Dowd (Williamstown) in the 400m hurdles and Derek Gatling II (Kingsway) in the long jump.

 Both teams are currently ranked 3rd in the latest polls and are looking to fine tune some events this weekend at the Widener Invitational.
