Season Preview: Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Open Season Sept. 7

Roadrunner men's and women's cross country teams look to continue a proud, winning tradition this Fall as the 2019 season opens Saturday, September 7, during the annual Dukes Invitational at RCSJ Cumberland.

The Roadrunners will suffer a big loss this season as two-time All-American cross country runner Mike Dowd has moved on to Wilmington University. But coach Ryan Hughes has a solid returning starter in sophomore Noah Cziryak, a former Triton High standout and 2018 All-Region performer, and a roster loaded with talent, including former state champion runner Amadu Jallah from Deptford High School.

"This year's team, is building together well," said Coach Hughes. "We will definitely miss national runner-up Mike Dowd, but this team looks to have a much tighter and stronger pack than last year."
