Courtney O'Hara Leads Roadrunner Women While Hepler Is Top Men's Finisher in St. Joseph's Invitational

The Roadrunner cross country teams traveled to Long Island for their largest meet of the year so far, with 34 teams to face off against. Despite being rained on for the third week in a row, the teams fared well against their New York competition at the St. Joseph's Long Island Invitational. The top 50 in each race were award winners and RCSJ came home with 5 awards.

The women's race went off first, with a hard charging Courtney O'Hara hanging near the lead pack over the historic Sunken meadow State Park course. She finished with a lifetime best 21:58 to take 17th place over the 5k course. Mackenzie Cochran crossed the line next with a 23:58 in 49th place and Ally Campo was right on her heels to finish in 52nd in 24:20. Rounding out the scoring for the ladies were Maddie O'Donnell with a 69th place finish and Grace Wahl with her 149th place finish to put the Roadrunners in 10th place in the 34 team event.

The men were led from the gun by Charlie Hepler with a 15th place finish, while Anas Bensaoud was literally on his heels in 16th place. Gavin Casella also earned an award with his 38th place finish in 30:59.
