Roadrunner Softball Grabs First Win, Eyes Florida Spring Break Road Trip

Lead-off hitter Miranda Booras collected four hits and two RBIs while sophomore pitcher Jackie Lesher and first baseman Olivia Farina also had three hits apiece to lift the Roadrunner women's softball team to a 17-12 win over Mercer County Community College Tuesday and a split of a doubleheader.

The win was the first of the season for RCGC as the team prepares to leave for its Florida spring break road trip. Lesher hurled seven innings and struck out four to earn the victory.

In the opener, the Runners dropped an 18-3 decision to MCCC. First baseman Mackenzie Freas stroked a three-run double in the loss.

Coach Steve DePasquale's team currently has a 1-3 overall record heading into the Florida spring break roadtrip starting Friday afternoon.
