Alexa Lee and Gemma Galloway were the stars of the day, lifting the Roadrunner Softball team to a doubleheader sweep of host Division I Harford Community College on Saturday.
Lee slammed a home run and double while driving in two runs, lifting the Roadrunner Softball team to a 5-4 triumph over host Harford CC in Game 1.
Galloway, a sophomore, hurled seven innings for the win, scattering eight hits and striking out 7. At the plate, Galloway had three hits and two RBIs.
The Runners held a 5-1 lead heading into the seventh inning and held off a furious Harford rally for their first win of the season.
RCSJ completed the doubleheader sweep with a 7-6 victory in Game 2. Lee and Anna Cirucci collected two RBIs each as the Runners rallied from 6-5 deficit with single runs in the sixth and seventh innings for the win.
Galloway earned her second win of the day, striking out 8 in seven innings, while also collecting three hits at the plate. The Runners improved to 2-3 with the triumph.
Next up will be a home doubleheader against Suffolk CC next Saturday, March 23.
