Coughlan Delivers in Scoring Column, But Roadrunners Come Up Short vs. Passaic

Freshman forward Kylar Coughlan (Gloucester City) has seen a changing role in the Roadrunners' women's basketball lineup the past few weeks, and on Saturday she answered the call.

Coughlin tossed in 17 points, including 11 in the first half to help the Runners to a slim halftime lead. It wasn't quite enough as coach Rich Cooper's team fell to visiting Passsic County Co,mmunity College, 77-67.

"With the injuries we've had a team, I've had to play down low," said Coughlin. "I'm pretty good with rebounding, so that helps me on the scoring end. I'm becoming more and more comfortable in the role, so hopefully I can continue to help the team."

Point guard Naiyana Sabb (Gloucester Catholic) added 16 while forward Danielle Schaw (Overbrook) chipped in with 11 for the Runners. Olivia Moses paced Pasaaic (14-3, 4-6) withy 16 while Zeniya Thomas added 14.

The loss dropped RCGC's record to 9-11 overall and 5-6 in the conference. With four regular season games remaining the Runners still have a shot at qualifying for the NJCAA Region XIX Tournament.

Next up will be Camden County College at home Tuesday starting at 5 p.m.
