Qeiajae Canty and Shakiyah Hasan Signs Letters of Intent for RCGC Women's Basketball

Roadrunner women's basketball welcomes Atlantic City High School standouts Shakiyah Hasan and Qeiajae Canty as new members of the program for the 2019-20 NJCAA season.

Hasan and Canty each signed letters of intent this month, according to coach Rich Cooper, who noted that both players are expected to make solid contributions when they begin play next winter.

"Both Shakiyah (Hasan) and Qeiajae (Canty) bring extraordinary offensive and defensive skills to the program," said Cooper. "We look forward to having them on the roster next season."

Hasan, a 5-feet, 10-inch center-forward who also competes in track for Atlantic City, will add scoring and rebounding skills next season. She is the daughter of Hakim Hasan and Tamara Henry.

Canty, who averaged 10.0 points per game, plays the guard position and brings solid ball-handling, leadership and shooting skills to the RCGC program. She plans to major in communications and business law. She is the daughter of Shemia Dickerson and Sandra Smith. She also competes in track and field at ACHS.
