Women's Basketball: Deveney-Bethea, Canty and Lewis Selected to All-Region XIX Team

Freshmen Trina Deveney-Bethea (Cedar Creek) and Qeiajae Canty (Atlantic City) along with sophomore Mya Lewis (Cherry Hill West) were named to the NJCAA Region XIX DIII Women's Basketball Team for 2019-20, it was announced by the All-Region Selection Committee.

The trio helped the Roadrunners to an 18-10 overall record and a spot in the Region Final Four Tournament at Northampton County last weekend where they fell to No. 1 seed Passaic. Deveney-Bethea was selected to the All-Region Second Team while Canty and Lewis were named to the All-Region Third Team.

Deveney-Bethea averaged 14.9 points and 12.4 rebounds per game as the team's starting forward. She performed consistently well, including in the Region XIX Tournament.
"This has been a great experience, and I'm looking forward to returning next year" said Deveney-Bethea. "We have some very good players here and a winning culture."

Canty averaged 15.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game, primarily as a guard. Lewis, also a guard, proved solid at running the offense while averaging 8.2 points and 4.7 assist per game.

The Runners, who helped veteran Coach Rich Cooper win his 100th career game this past season, bowed out 89-83 to Passaic on March 1 in the Region Final Four semifinal.
