#NJCAAForward Initiative: Spotlight on Roadrunners Women's Basketball Freshman Qeiajae Canty

As part of the #NJCAAForward initiative, Roadrunner Athletics is proud to highlight many of our top student athletes. In this post, we highlight women's basketball star point guard Qeiajae Canty. Canty proved to be one of the top players on the team and in Region XIX, she averaged 15.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game this season and made the Third-All Region XIX Team. In this post, Qeiajae discusses how she is keeping up with her school work and what her plans are after RCSJ!

Why did you decide to attend RCSJ-Gloucester?

I couldn't refuse the opportunities and possiblitities RCSJ-Gloucester has to offer! But not only did I chose this school for it's educational offerings, I chose it becaue of the coaching staff of the women's basketball team. I felt very comfortable with them and knew it was the right fit for me!

What has been your favorite part about being a student-athlete in our program?

I enjoy building the relationships with my teammates and fellow classmates! 

How are you able to keep up with the virtual learning requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic?

I am constantly checking what assignments are due with the circumstances we are facing now with this pandemic. 

What is the biggest thing you miss about the campus and the Fitness Center now closed?

I miss being able to workout in the fitness center with my teammates and the other student-athletes!

What is your plan for next year?

My plan for next year is to finish and get my associates degree and continue to work hard to earn a scholarship somewhere and play basketball!
