Charlotte, NC – Following the recommendations from the NJCAA Presidential Advisory Council and the NJCAA Board of Regents, the NJCAA has announced its adjusted plan of action for the upcoming 2020-21 academic year. Following the Board of Regents’ vote on Monday, a majority of competition will be moved to the spring semester.
Curtis Thomas, a Delsea Regional High School graduate, has signed a NJCAA Letter of Intent with Rowan College South Jersey Gloucester to wrestle, beginning in the Fall 2019 semester.
RCSJ Gloucester wrestling is excited to announce the signing of Buena Regional High School wrestler Jaden Roberts to a national letter of intent for the 2019-2020 season.

RCGC freshman Dylan Fischer won his first two bouts in Friday competition to advance to the NJCAA National Championship Quarterfinal round during early action at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa to lead a group of six Roadrunners competing in the national tournament. The Runners' Tyler Baer (174 pounds) and Anthony Pencook (141) also enjoyed solid results on opening day, each winning two bouts to remain alive early in the tournament.
At the beginning of the 2018-19 season, RCGC freshman wrestler Dylan Fischer experienced the growing pains of transitioning from high school to collegiate athletics. But Dylan, a 2017 West Deptford High graduate and a two-time district champion, shook off the cob webs and began experiencing success as a Roadrunner early and often.

The RCGC wrestling program has experienced a solid turnaround during the 2018-19 season as was evident by last weekend's Garden State Athletic Conference Championship run at the Roadrunner Athletic Complex. Rowan College at Gloucester County has been selected to host the 2019 Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) Wrestling Championships on Saturday, January 26th.

Dylan Fischer and Dylan Skidmore are in a groove, and that is great news for RCGC's wrestling team. Fischer, a 165-pounder, and Skidmore, a 157-pounder, are hitting their peaks just in time under coach Dan Antonelli.
Signs of positive progress are everywhere within the Roadrunners' roster as coach Dan Antonelli guides his team past the early portion of the 2018-19 campaign. With a 2-2 dual meet record and strong outings against tough competition, RCGC has plenty to look forward to. Early signs indicate the Roadrunners will be a possible contender later this season when they participate in the Garden State Athletic Conference Championships and later in the Districts leading up to the JUCO Nationals in late winter.

First-year wrestler Dylan Fischer recorded a pair of falls in dual meets against Gettysburg College and The University of Scranton to help the Roadrunners to a solid showing at the Green Terror Duals at McDaniel College. The Runners battled to a respectable 1-2 team finish with a win over UMBC and close losses to D-III Gettysburg College and Scranton.

Opening day of the 2018-19 RCGC wrestling season proved to be amazingly positive, if not somewhat surprising given the number of first-year athletes that make up the Roadrunner roster.
In the debut of first-year head coach Dan Antonelli, the Roadrunners looked more like an entrenched, veteran and savvy team as they thoroughly dismantled Temple University’s club squad by a 43-10 score before a large home crowd Saturday.

The former Clayton-Glassboro High coach has already accomplished one of his primary goals before the new season has even started – building the roster up to respectable numbers. On that point, Antonelli begins the season with a solid team of 20 wrestlers, many of whom have the talent to flourish in collegiate post-season competition later this winter. Of the current group of 20, only one wrestler – second-year standout Dylan Skidmore – returns from a year ago.
When Roadrunner Athletics announced this past spring that veteran South Jersey coach Dan Antonelli would take over the reigns of the RCGC wrestling program, you knew the team would make some instant progress in recruiting local athletes.
Antonelli, who collected more than 300 wins as head coach at Clayton/Glassboro high schools, got to work right away and has not disappointed. In just under 2 months, he has rebuilt the numbers on the Roadrunners' roster to 16 wrestlers and is hoping the program enjoys a successful 2018-19 season.
New RCGC Wrestling Coach Dan Antonelli has always relied on building relationships as his personal formula for success.
"When you build positive and meaningful relationships with your wrestlers, your staff and your administration, you will have success," said Antonelli, a familiar and highly regarded name in the South Jersey wrestling community. "I love building relationships – this is what coaching is all about for me."
