Delsea Star Goalie Allison Gebhart Signs National LOI to Play at RCGC!

For Allison Gebhart, the 2018 soccer season at Delsea High School proved to be a magical run. The current Delsea senior played flawlessly in goal as she led the Crusaders to a 20-2-2 overall record and a South Jersey Group 2 sectional championship, the first for the school in 25 years.

Allison, who will bring her talents to the RCGC women's soccer program next fall, paced Delsea defensively during the team's sectional title win over Cinnaminson last Fall, recording a shutout in a 0-0 tie won by the Crusaders on penalty kicks.

On Wednesday, Allison – with the support of her family and the RCGC staff and administration – signed her national letter of intent as the Roadrunners' newest goalkeeper. She becomes the program's first freshman recruit for the 2019 season under head coach Megan Ruttler, who has guided RCGC to national prominence in the sport over the past decade. In attendance to welcome Megan from RCGC were Dr. Fred Keating, RCGC President; Brian Rowan, Executive Director of Athletics; and Coach Ruttler. Amy Gebhart, Allison's mom, also participated in the ceremony.

"We're thrilled to have secured Ally as a goalkeeper – she will be tremendous," said Coach Ruttler following Wednesday's signing. "She was a big part of the success at Delsea over the past few years, especially this past year with the championship. She has a solid foundation in goal and that sets the stage for what's to come."

Allison finished her Delsea career with 182 career saves as a junior and senior. Her team played a difficult scholastic schedule against many of South Jersey's toughest teams in 2018, culminating in a sectional crown and a trip to the Group 2 state semifinals. Her save in penalty kicks secured the title win over Cinnaminson in early November.

"I'm excited to be here at RCGC," said Allison. I've heard a lot about  Coach Megan (Ruttler), and I'm looking to contribute to the team's success."
