Freshman Ave Buonpastore (Highland Regional) scored an unassisted goal to open the scoring, but that was it for the Roadrunner women's soccer team as RCSJ Gloucester fell to host Sussex County Community College 6-1 Saturday in conference and region action.
The Skylanders' Jessenia Velez netted three straight goals while teammate Giovanna Castro added two unassisted goals to spark the Sussex win.
Coach Megan Ruttler's team fell to 0-2 overall. The Roadrunners travel to Camden County College on Tuesday, Sept. 10 in a 3:30 pm start.
Game Preview
Roadrunner women's soccer will play Saturday, September 7 as they travel up to Sussex CC to take on the Skylanders. The Roadrunners, coached by Megan Ruttler, lost their season opener to Mercer County Community College. The game vs. Sussex is the start of a six-game roadtrip for the Runners,
Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
