Roadrunners' Womens' Soccer Coach Megan Ruttler executes a classic approach when encouraging her players -- many of whom are meeting each other for the first time at the outset of a season -- to develop their own team identity.

"Trying to get one set of expectations is a challenge," the veteran coach noted. "So we have involved the players and asked them – What do you feel the expectations should be and how should we all be held accountable? And it works because they are involved personally in the success of the team."​

Coach Ruttler's highly successful 10-year career is proof this approach is embraced by her athletes. Megan and her coaching staff have helped the Roadrunners' program maintain a steady presence in the national spotlight, which includes multiple NJCAA Division III Championship Tournament playoff appearances and six NJCAA Region XIX titles. Her teams placed second in the 2012 national championship tournament and fourth in the 2017 tournament.
