Kristi Twardziak Assumes Post as Roadrunners' Women's Tennis Coach

Kristi Twardziak is excited to bring her passion and coaching skills to the Roadrunner Women's Tennis program!

Twardziak, who has been named the new women's tennis coach for RCSJ-Gloucester, looks forward to continuing her success in the coaching ranks that she herself enjoyed as a player.

"I can't wait to get started," said Twardziak, who played sports at Triton Regional High School and Rowan University. "We have a great tradition in women's tennis here at Rowan College, and I want to continue creating a positive atmosphere and a winning culture."

First up on Twardziak's "To-Do" list is simply to recruit some committed athletes. And she herself is committed to providing a positive atmosphere for her new players.

"Playing here on the college level is quite a step up from playing in high school," said Twardziak, who currently coaches two sports at Triton Regional. "That's why we want to make this a positive experience and create a winning culture for all of our athletes."

Twardziak enjoyed plenty of success herself as an athlete. At Rowan University, she played one season in the women's softball program as an infielder, hitting .364 in 18 games for the Profs in 2012. She also played women's tennis for one season at Bloomsburg University, registering a 10-3 record in singles competition in 2011, her freshman year.

At Triton, Twardziak was a three-sport athlete (baseball, basketball and tennis) and was a member of the varsity baseball team in 2008 and 2009. She earned All-South Jersey honors for girls tennis in 2009 and 2010.

Twardziak has been the varsity softball coach at Triton Regional for three years and doubles as the assistant varsity basketball coach. She also coached softball at Glassboro High for three seasons. Currently, she teaches health and physical education at Triton.

Executive Director of Athletics Brian Rowan, who also serves as the Roadrunners' Men's Tennis Coach, feels Twardziak is a perfect fit for the women's program, which finished as NJCAA National Runnerup in 2018.

"Kristi has a tremendous passion for the sport and was a gifted player herself," said Rowan. "She will be very committed to bringing in new athletes and creating a winning culture here. We are excited to have her as a member of Roadrunner Athletics!"
