Richard Johnson enters his 2nd season at Rowan College of South Jersey as a USATF Level 1 certified coach with a multitude of experience in the sport of track and field as an athlete and a coach. Most recently, as an assistant coach with Community College of Philadelphia and Tri-State Elite Track Club with 10 plus years of experience.  He is a graduate of Willingboro High School which has a strong history in track and field and it is where his passion was born for the sport.  

As an age group coach and recruiter, he has been vital in the development of young aspiring track athletes in his community.  Throughout, his tenure he has been responsible for multiple medalists at the AAU Jr Olympics which includes relays and individual races.  One of which is a 2015 National Championship won by his 17-18 age group in the 4x800m relay.  This was a major accomplishment for him and the young men that participated in that relay that he and them will never forget. This was also followed up by a 2nd place finish in the same event and age group the in 2016 AAU Jr Olympics.  

On a personal note, Coach Rich is married to Stephanie Johnson who is also a track coach at Willingboro High School. They have been married for 8 years and have a 3 children Tristan, Skylar and Kayleigh.  More than anything Coach Rich wants to continue to impact the lives of athletes and help in making them better overall young men and women.
