Boyd Finishes Strong in St. Joseph's College Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park

This past weekend, the RCGC XC teams took another long road trip to experience the hills of historic Sunken Meadow State Park and see some of our Northern National competition.  The teams fared well, with several award winners in the team's largest race of the year in terms of finishers.

In the women's race, Lyndsay Boyd put on an amazing final mile to propel herself into the awards with her 44th place finish.  Allison Bone finished strong as well to finish in 27:09.  The ladies race also served as the first race for Nicole Ferretti and Nikki Reed, who both had excellent debuts considering the tough hills on the course.

In the men's race,  Mike Dowd showed why he was named National Runner of the Week this season.  Right from the gun, he was with the leaders and battled for the #1 spot for most of the race.  Mike was eventually outpaced by an NCAA II athlete by a few strides to finish a great 2nd in the very large meet.  Also winning an award for his efforts was Noah Cziryak with his top 50 finish in 42nd place.  Jake Kolodziej crossed the line next in 72nd followed by Jerry Olvera making his Roadrunner debut with a 92nd place finish in his first 8k.  Rounding out the scoring was Anthony DiMarco with his 221st place finish.  Next up, the Roadrunners travel even further North for the JUCO Northeast Invitational at the Community College of Rhode Island.
