Region 19 Championships: Roadrunner XC to Compete at White Clay Creek State Park

The RCSJ - Gloucester Men's and Women's Cross Country teams will close out their Fall 2021 season when they compete in the NJCAA Region 19 Championship Meets on Saturday, October 30, at White Clay Creek State Park in Newark, DE.

The Men's team will race first starting at 11:00 am followed by the Women's race at 12:00 noon. All- Region awards are earned by the top 7 individual winners in each race. The course is loaded with trails winding up and down hills.

Performing for the Runners' women's team will be freshmen runners Ashton Wiseley, Jaimie Fratta, Paige Wodarczyk and Alyssa Connor, all Washington Township High graduates.

Wiseley has emerged as a No. 1 runner with solid performances in the Roadrunner Invitational, Stockton University and the Border Battle hosted by Rowan University. Alyssa Connor has also shown steady progress as have all runners, said coach Ryan Hughes.

"Our women have definitely showed a lot of improvement, and we're confident we will see some nice performances in the Region meet," said Hughes.

On the men's side, the RCSJ runners include freshmen Giorgio Bruno, Cade Gilbert, Joshua Baxter and Darius Mason. Gilbert has been the No. 1 runner with solid showings in the Border Battle and Roadrunner invitational.

Spectators will be allowed with proper social distancing protocol in place. Spectators must wear masks at all times. No spectators will be allowed access to the playing areas at any time. Spectators must leave the gym and building immediately following completion of play.
