Three RCSJ Runners Earn All-Region 19 Honors at White Clay Creek State Park

The Roadrunner cross country teams competed in the Region 19 Championships hosted by Del Tech at the historically challenging White Clay Creek State Park in Newark, DE. The teams were primed and peaked to tackle the significant hills on the course, leading to some impressive performances, including three All-Region honorees.

In the men's race, illness continued to wreak havoc on the team, with several runners unable to compete. Despite this, the team was once again led by Clayton High standout Giorgio Bruno, who finished 19th with a time of 33:30 over the 8k course. Next up for the Roadrunners was Cade Gilbert, a Pitman product, who placed 28th in 37:54 despite a nagging cold. Both runners ran tough, well planned tactical races with excellent finishes after the extremely hilly men's course.

For the women, the squad composed entirely of Washington Township products, was led by THREE All-Region performances! Once again, Ashton Wiseley led the way with a 3rd place finish in 25:21 to earn All-Region. Following a few steps behind was Alyssa Connor in 5th place with a time of 25:57 for All-Region. Next up, having her best race of the season, was Jamie Fratta taking the final All-Region spot in 7th place with a time of 26:38. Wrapping up the flock of Roadrunners was Paige Wodarczyk with an 11th place finish in 28:44. The team ran an excellent race, knowing how challenging the hills would be, they started conservatively and then continually hunted other runners down throughout the race.
