Year: Sophomore

Hometown: Woodbury Heights, NJ

High School: Gateway Regional High School Class of 2022.

Sport: Softball

Position: Pitcher.

Major: Health Science. Hopes to become employed as an Ultrasound Technician following completion of her major.

Career Highlights:  Gemma, a returning All-American, has picked up where she left off last season. Gemma has compiled a 5-1 overall record in 2024 with 43 strikeouts and a sparkling 1.87 earned run average to lead the Runners to a 6-3 overall start and No. 4 national ranking.

As a freshman, Gemma earned NJCAA Division III All-American honors. Gemma quickly emerged as the team's top pitcher on a deep rotation that also featured talented sophomore Janiece Robles. Gemma compiled a 24-6 overall record with a 2.90 earned run average. She averages close to 6 strikeouts per game. At the plate she often helped her own cause, sporting a solid .322 batting average!

Her pitches display plenty of speed as well as movement, especially her curve ball, making it difficult for opposing hitters to pick up ball location.

Gemma also pitched all four years and played field hockey while at Gateway.

Gemma Galloway on her success at RCSJ: "From the start I just came out to do what I do, and I try never to become stressed about it," she commented. "I know what I can do on the mound, and I'm confident any time I step out there."

"My teammates always have my back, and you don't always see that with a lot of teams," she added. "Even if we're down in the seventh inning, I know my teammates will always give me a chance to win."
