Today we highlight Men's Tennis standout Kyle Deacon, one of the top singles and doubles' players in Region 19, helping to lead the Runners to an impressive 7-3 start in dual meet competition. See his profile below.

Year: Sophomore

Hometown: Mullica Hill, NJ

High School: Clearview Regional High School Class of 2021.

Sport: Men's Tennis

Position: Singles, Doubles player.

Major: Business administration but is transferring to become an accounting major. Following RCSJ, Kyle is considering attending Rowan University or possibly an NCAA college out of state. He would like to work as a CPA following graduation.

Hobbies and Interests: Like to play video games and practice his tennis game on a regular basis. His favorite tennis player is international star Novak Djokovic.

Career Highlights: Kyle has helped the Runners off to a blazing 7-3 start this Spring, winning many key singles and doubles matches again some tough conference, regional and national competition.

In Spring 2023, he contributed a huge role in helping the Runners win the Region 19 Division III crown at Mercer County Park, and then in helping the squad to an NJCAA Division III national runnerup finish to conclude the campaign. Kyle and teammate Rockland Caselli earned Second team All-American honors at No. 1 doubles in the postseason. The two teammates were also Region 19 champions. In addition, Kyle finished as Region 19 runnerup at No. 2 singles.

At Clearview High, Kyle played three seasons, including first, second and third singles, while finishing second in the Gloucester County Tournament his senior season. His scholastic career was cut short with the COVID panademic his junior year, but he bounced back to finish strong.

"It was tough losing that playing time because you only get one high school career," said. "But I'm happy to have bounced back to resume my career at Clearview and here at Rowan College."

Kyle Deacon on his success at RCSJ and on helping his team win a Region 19 title in 2023: "The coaches here are just amazing, The level of competition is so much higher here. And it was great to be a part of our Region 19 championship last season. My teammates and I were all close and we enjoyed that experience and then going to Nationals."
