Logan Perrone, Men's Golf

Today we highlight men's golf standout Logan Perrone, one of the top golfers in Region 19 this spring who has led his team to an unbeaten regular season and who looks again to capture postseason honors in both team and individual competition. See his profile below.

Year: Sophomore

Hometown: Somerdale, NJ

High School: Sterling High School, Class of 2020.

Sport: Men's Golf, team captain

Major: Logan is a digital marketing major. He is a transfer from Camden County College, where he majored in communications. He hopes to continue his academic and playing career at one of the following NCAA colleges during his next stop: Chestnut Hill (PA), Kean University, Thomas Jefferson or Ferrum College (VA). Upon earning his bachelors' degree, Logan will look to earn his PGM (professional golf management) certification and move on to eventually coach and give lessons in a golf program.

Career Highlights: Logan has emerged as one of Region 19's top performers the past two seasons. He has been team medalist at several GSAC and Region 19 meets, including the Roadrunner Invitational at Pitman GC along with meets at Ashbrook, Flanders Valley, and Galloping Hill golf course among others.

Perrone turned in a solid effort during the Spring 2023 Region 19 championship meet. In the second day of the meet, he shot an 80, finishing the tourney with a 169 overall. That score helped him finish in a tie for fourth place in the individual competition. He also played a key role in helping the Runners' Men's Team capture both the Garden State Athletic Conference and Region 19 titles in Spring 2023.

At Sterling High School, Logan did not play golf but did play three years of varsity lacrosse.

Logan Perrone on his personal and his team's success at RCSJ: "I enjoy playing against people who are better than me, and I've experienced that quite a bit playing in the National Championships last year and against one of our Region 19 players (Union's Patrick Murray) who is one of the best in the country." commented Logan. "I've learned a lot from these players and they have made me a better athlete.

"This team has a lot of confidence in repeating as conference champions and also as Region 19 champions," Logan added. "If we qualify for nationals, we hope we are deep enough to make it into the top five in the team race."

Coach Guy Davidson on sophomore Logan Perrone: "Logan is what I call a 'range rat' because he is constantly practicing in a very intense manner," said Coach Davidson. "Logan has established himself as one of the top golfers in the Region, which is no surprise to us. He's dedicated himself to practice and works very diligently on his game. Clearly, our newcomers are following his lead and have embraced the way we do things at RCSJ."
