Today we highlight women's golf standout Nancy Davidson, one of the top golfers in Region 19 this spring who is looking to make a return visit to the NJCAA Division III Golf Championships. See her profile below.

Hometown: Sicklerville, NJ

High School: Pitman High School, Class of 2022.

Sport: Women's Golf

Major: Nancy is a Computer Graphic Arts major who will earn a Certificate in Digital Marketing. She will graduate RCSJ in May and will attend James Madison University in Virginia as a sports and recreation management major. She hopes to gain employment in media production for sports teams following her JMU graduation.

About Nancy Davidson: Nancy is President of Alpha Beta Gamma, the RCSJ Business Studies Honor Society, a member of Phi Theta Kappa, owns a 4.0
GPA and was named to the NJCAA All-Academic 1st Team.She is the daughter of head coach Dr. Guy Davidson and a co-captain of the Roadrunner Golf teams.

"My dad (Guy Davidson) had never coached any of my teams when I was younger," said Nancy. "He happened to be the coach of the golf program here, and he asked me one day if I wanted to play, and I said 'Yes!' And I'm so glad I did -- it has been a wonderful experience!"

Career Highlights: Nancy earned 2nd team NJCAA All-American honors in Spring 2023 as a freshman

This spring, Nancy has emerged as the medalist in various GSAC and Region 19 golf tournaments, including Ashbrook, Flanders Valley, Twin Lakes, Running Deer and Galloping Hills golf clubs.

In Spring 2023, Nancy was one of several Roadrunners who helped the program field a complete team at the NJCAA National Women's Tournament at Chautauqua in New York. It proved to be the first time that Roadrunner Athletics was able to field a complete women's team in golf.

Nancy, along with teammate Skylar Amoroso helped RCSJ place second overall to Oxford-Emory College in the team race at the 2023 National Meet. Davidson was 11th overall with a 398 in four rounds of play.

At Pitman High School, Nancy played golf for coaches Steve Bell and Jeff Young during her freshman and sophomore years but was unable to compete in her final two years due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

Nancy Davidson on her success at RCSJ: "Golf has been treated more as a team sport here at RCSJ, and that has really helped me a lot," she said. "The men's and women's teams have really supported each other and we have all become good friends while enjoying a lot of success.

"Being able to qualify for nationals last season was such a great experience for us -- it was awesome to watch how players on a national level handled themselves and how they compete. Everyone was so supportive, and we learned quite a bit."
