
Today we highlight sophomore outfielder Rylee Shappell, who played a key role in helping the Roadrunners win the Region 19 championship as a freshman and earn an automatic berth in the NJCAA Division III World Series. She has continued to flourish in Spring 2025, leading the Runners to a 5-3 start.

Major: Health Sciences. Rylee will continue her education at Rutgers University, Camden Campus. She will enroll in the RU Nursing program and hopes to become employed as a travel nurse following her graduation.
Favorite Activities: Rylee enjoys attending country concerts. Rylee also enjoys going to the beach, watching TV shows and hanging out with friends.
About Rylee Shappell: Rylee is continuing her success from the 2024 season. In 8 games played, she has collected a 478 batting average with one home run, 4 RBIs, 9 runs scored and 4 stolen bases.
She pulled off the rare feat of hitting for the cycle in a game against Ocean County College on March 9th with a single, double, triple and home run, as well as 4 RBIs.
In 2024, she enjoyed a solid freshman campaign, registering a .297 batting average, 4 home runs, 25 RBIs, 37 runs scored and 10 stolen bases.
Rylee helped the team compile an overall record of 26-10 last spring, with a win over Brookdale to win the Region 19 North Atlantic District title and later two wins in the NJCAA Division III World Series.
At Triton Regional High School, Rylee played shortstop and helped the Mustangs to three consecutive winning seasons and playoff appearances. She posted a .445 career batting average with 61 RBIs and 20 stolen bases. She also excelled in field hockey and basketball.
She also played outfield for the New Jersey Gators travel softball team
