First-year forward Ja'Zere Noel earned tournament MVP by pumping in 25 points, while second-year guard Na'Quan McPherson contributed 23 points to lead the RCGC men's basketball team to a 90-83 victory over Rowan Burlington to win the Annual Roadrunner Classic Championship Saturday night.
Forward S.J. Hawkins chipped in with 13 points and guard Luciano Lubrano added 11 for the Roadrunners, who improved to 8-2 overall as they completed a solid week with four wins, including triumphs over nationally ranked GSAC rivals Brookdale and Middlesex.
"With our wins this week plus this tournament championship, our team has really come together well," said RCGC coach Will Wareham. "We're hoping we get mentioned in the conversation when the national rankings are released next week."
Also earning spots on the All-Tournament team were Hawkins (RCGC), Rowan Burlington's Jaleel Hatcher, Williamson Trades' Gus Pagan and Valley Forge's Isiah Samaniego.
