Noel, Lunsford Help Runners Capture Ninth Straight Win

First-year forward Ja'Zere Noel (Woodbury) deposited 23 points and pulled down 11 rebounds while point guard Tyler Lunsford (Schalick) pumped in 20 points and dished out 6 assists to lift the Roadrunners' mens basketball team to a dramatic 88-84 victory over host Passaic County College on Tuesday night.

The duo led five players scoring in twin figures. Other contributors for the Runners included DJ Henderson, who dropped in 15 points; SJ Hawkins, with 11 rebounds; and Kenar Gulley, with 11 points.

The game was a make up from November when inclement weather forced postponement of the Garden State Athletic Conference contest.

The Runners held 32-29 lead at halftime, and the lead exchanged hands several times in the second half. The visitors outscored Passaic 56-55 in the second half.

RCGC helped itself at the foul line by converting 28 of 33 free throw attempts.

The Roadrunners improved to 12-2 overall and 8-1 in the conference.

Coach Will Wareham's team will next host defending national champion Brookdale Community College on Tuesday, January 8 in a 7 pm start.
