The RCGC track and field teams travelled back to Widener University this past weekend for the Widener Invitational.  The teams faced some stiff competition and came home with 23 national qualifying performances.

With such a large field, and such a highly competitive meet, top places were very hard to come by and signified very impressive marks.  Some top marks at the meet came from: 

McKenna Dowd (Williamstown) placed 12^th in the 3000m steeplechase. 

Edgar Rosa (Paulsboro) placed 3^rd in the javelin and 10^th in the discus.

Elisia Lancaster (Delsea) placed 4^th in the discus, 7^th in the shot put and 1^st in the hammer.  

Emily Hilt (Kingsway) placed 3^rd in the discus, 3^rd in the shot put and 10^th in the hammer throw. 

Adam Hunt (Collingswood) placed 3^rd in the discus, 5^th in the hammer and 7^th in the shot put. 

The 4x100m relays teams for both the men and women posted their top times of the season.  The men's team consisted of Glenn Abbott (Deptford) William Cabbell (Pennsgrove) Derek Gatling II (Kingsway) and Jaylen Hoover (Schalick) and placed 11^th.  The women's team consisted of De'Ania Davenport-White (Salem) Aliison Bone (Schalick) McKenna Dowd and Keyonia Vaughn (Winslow) and took 16^th place.

This week the Roadrunners will compete in two locations as they continue to hone their skills for Nationals.  Qualifiers for the Penn Relays will complete on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the University of Pennsylvania while the rest of the team competes at the Lions Invitational at TCNJ.
