RCGC Battles another Weekend of NCAA Competition

RCGC Battles another Weekend of NCAA Competition

The RCGC track and field teams travelled back to Widener University this past weekend for the Widener Invitational.  The teams faced some stiff competition and came home with 23 national qualifying performances.

With such a large field, and such a highly competitive meet, top places were very hard to come by and signified very impressive marks.  Some top marks at the meet came from:

McKenna Dowd (Williamstown) placed 12th in the 3000m steeplechase.

Edgar Rosa (Paulsboro) placed 3rd in the javelin and 10th in the discus.

Elisia Lancaster (Delsea) placed 4th in the discus, 7th in the shot put and 1st in the hammer.

Emily Hilt (Kingsway) placed 3rd in the discus, 3rd in the shot put and 10th in the hammer throw.

Adam Hunt (Collingswood) placed 3rd in the discus, 5th in the hammer and 7th in the shot put.

The 4x100m relays teams for both the men and women posted their top times of the season.  The men's team consisted of Glenn Abbott (Deptford) William Cabbell (Pennsgrove) Derek Gatling II (Kingsway) and Jaylen Hoover (Schalick) and placed 11th.  The women's team consisted of De'Ania Davenport-White (Salem) Aliison Bone (Schalick) McKenna Dowd and Keyonia Vaughn (Winslow) and took 16th place.

This week the Roadrunners will compete in two locations as they continue to hone their skills for Nationals.  Qualifiers for the Penn Relays will complete on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the University of Pennsylvania while the rest of the team competes at the Lions Invitational at TCNJ.
