Acker Continues Solid Play as Runners Finish Week at 1-1

Forward Nikita Acker scored 15 points and forward Danielle Schaw pulled down 12 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Roadrunner's women's team dropped a heartbreaking 54-53 decision to host Bergen County on Saturday, January 19.

The Runners held a slim 32-31 halftime lead. The performance marked the second straight contest in which Acker, who joined the team at the outset of the month, finished in double figures after she dropped in 15 in a win vs. Lehigh Carbon earlier in the week.

"Nikita has been great since joining the team," commented head coach Rich Cooper.

The loss concluded a 1-1 week for the Roadrunners, who beat Lehigh-Carbon 80-44 on January 17th.

Guard McKenna Dowd continued her torrid scoring pace by pumping in 25 points. That proved to be a career high for McKenna, who had 22 against Montgomery the previous week.

Coach Cooper's team now has a 9-9 overall record. Next up will be a home game on January 29th vs. Middlesex County College in a 5 p.m. start.
