Skidmore Leads Way as Runners Beat Rutgers University Club Team in Final Home Dual Match

The Roadrunners' wrestling team captured their final home dual match of the season as Dylan Skidmore, Dylan Fischer, Tyler Baer and John Fountain each grab key wins in a 34-15 win over the Rutgers University Club team Friday evening on sophomore night.

The night marked the final home matches for Skidmore and second-year standout Anthony Pencook. Both were honored along with second-year wrestlers Tony Prosperi and Matt Gray.

Following the win, Skidmore, who performed well in last season's NJCAA National Championship Meet in Iowa, reflected on the 2018-19 season under coach Dan Antonelli.

In the current campaign, the Runners recently won the Garden State Athletic Conference championship on January 26.

"It's definitely exciting to accomplish what we have so far knowing we can go even further," said Skidmore, also a soccer star at RCGC. "I think we blew away everyone's expectations."

Next up for the Roadrunners will be the District championships at Lackawanna College on February 16 followed by the National Championships March 1-2 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
