RCGC wrestling is excited to announce the signing of Gloucester City heavyweight wrestler Matt Cruz to a national letter of intent for the 2019-2020 season.

Cruz became the first state qualifier in the history of the Gloucester program when he placed second at Region 7. He won a district title and was victorious in two matches at states, dropping into the loser's bracket with a loss to Voorhees two-time state champion Lewis Fernandes. Cruz finished the season 38-5.

He was selected to the South Jersey Times All-Area Team in 2019.

Roadrunners Coach Dan Antonelli welcomes Matt to the team next season and looks forward to him contributing to the program's success.
