Roadrunner Volleyball Battles Hard But Drops Heartbreaker to Ocean County
Congratulations to the RCGC women's volleyball team on a superb battle against Ocean County College Tuesday night at home as they dropped a heart-breaking 3-2 decision to a talented Vikings' squad. Congratulations to the RCGC women's volleyball team on a superb battle against Ocean County College Tuesday night at home as they dropped a heart-breaking 3-2 decision to a talented Vikings' squad. 
 
After holding a 2-1 lead in matches and needing just one to clinch, the Roadrunners dropped the final two sets by scores of 25-9 and 15-9.
 
Performing well for the Roadrunners were standouts Azhiyanna Redd, Megan Shook, Emily Tate, Taylor Caldas, Victoria Caldas and Casey Alderete among others. RCGC won two of three early sets by scores of 25-12 and 25-20 before dropping the final two sets. 

The loss dropped the Roadrunners' overall record 7-6 and 3-6 within the conference. Coach Megan Pierson's team will try and tie and break the school record for wins and keep their Region XIX playoff hopes alive when they take on Monrtgomery County College and Bergen CC in a tri-match at Bergen on Saturday. The record for school wins in one season at RCGC/GCC is 8.
