GAME DAY: Roadrunner Volleyball drops Heartbreaking Decision to Union CC

GAME DAY: Roadrunner Volleyball drops Heartbreaking Decision to Union CC

Close -- but not quite enough to steal a road win.

After holding a slim lead and needing one set to close out a key region and conference rival, the Roadrunner volleyball team dropped a heart-breaking 3-2 decision Saturday afternoon.

The loss snapped a two-match win streak for coach Rebecca Pierson's team, which fell to 3-5 overall.

The Roadrunners held a 2-1 lead following consecutive 25-21 and 25-19 wins in sets 2 and 3. But Union bounced back to claim set four by 25-19 score along with the deciding set by a 15-12 score.

Next up for the Runners will be a home match against Region XIX rival Raritan Valley on Tuesday, September 17 in a 7:00 pm start.

Match Preview

The Roadunner volleyball team looks to win their third match in a row when they visit Union County College Saturday, September 14, in a 12 noon start. Coach Rebecca Pierson's team's most recent win came over Atlantic Cape Community College by a 3-0 score on Thursday evening.
