Today we highlight sophomore baseball standout Kevin Opanel, who has emerged as one of Region 19's top pitcher for the No. 3 nationally ranked Runners this spring. See his profile below.

Year: Sophomore

Ht./Wt.: 6-2, 175 pounds.

Hometown: Clementon, NJ

High School: Neumann-Goretti High, Philadelphia PA, Class of 2021.

Position: Right-handed pitcher.

2023 stats: Kevin has a 1-1 record with 25 strikeouts and a stingy 0.39 ERA in 23 innings pitched. His signature game was a no-hitter vs. Lehigh-Carbon in 7 innings on March 12th in a 5-0 win.

2022 stats: Kevin registered a 2-1 record 12 appearances, earning a save in the North Atlantic District Region 19 final vs. RCSJ Cumberland in May.

Kevin Opanel on Pitching a No-Hitter: "This was a great thrill to pitch a no-hitter, but my best memory is definitely winning th e 19 championship and qualifying for the National Championships," he said.
