Biolsi, Graeber, Diaz Lead Offensive Assault as No. 3 Roadrunners Halt Southern Maryland in Season Opener

Sophomore left fielder Chris Biolsi and right fielder Aaron Graeber each slammed home runs and combined for 5 RBIs to lead the No. 3 nationally ranked Roadrunner Baseball team to a 12-2 triumph over host College of Southern Maryland in the season opener Saturday.

First baseman Felix Diaz also knocked in 3 runs as the Roadrunner grabbed the win in a seven-inning effort.

Winning pitcher Kevin Opanel allowed just one hit in three innings while Steven Maiers and Ethan Dodd also surrendered just 1 hit apiece.

The Runners methodically built a 9-0 lead against their D 2 rival before the Hawks broke their drought with two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

The two teams will play a doubleheader Sunday with the first pitch for Game 1 set for 12 noon.
