Freshmen Nick Sambour (Williamstown) and Tim Schultice (Timber Creek) turned in solid performances to lead a furious comeback, but it wasn't enough as the Roadrunners dropped a third straight contest to a quality opponent in a heart-breaking 78-67 loss to visiting RCSJ Cumberland on Tuesday night.
Sambour collected 18 points and pulled down 4 rebounds while scoring 10 of his points in the second half to lead a Roadrunner comeback. Schultice, meanwhile, fired in 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a solid all-around effort.
Sophomore Danny Williams (Seaford High) chipped in with 17 points, helping the Runners cut the lead to four points to 4 points with less than two minutes remaining -- but the rally fell short as the home team dropped to 2-7 overall.
The Roadrunners will travel to Union County College Tuesday, Dec. 3, in an 8:00 pm start.
GAME DAY PREVIEW
