Men's and Women's Basketball Teams Sweep Camden County College in Battle Under the Bridge

The Men's and Women's Basketball teams began their week in solid fashion by sweeping the Camden County College teams in a women's-men's doubleheader at Rutgers-Camden on Monday night.

P.J. Boyette deposited 17 points while teammates Quantavious Rogers and Eriq Campbell chipped in with 15 and 12 points respectively to lift the Roadrunner Men's Basketball team to their first win of the season, a 72-48 win over the Cougars.

The Runners led most of the way as they improved their record 1-1 overall. Rogers also dished out 6 assists from his guard position to lead a balanced offense.

Next up for the Runners will be a home match vs. Sussex County Community College on Saturday, Nov. 12th, at 2 pm.

In other action, the Roadrunner Women's Team registered a 72-62 triumph over Camden County, also at Rutgers-Camden. The triumph improved the Runners' record 2-1 on the season and concluded a stretch of three games in three days to start the new season -- two of the games were played in a kickoff classic in upstate New York this past weekend.

"We were tired and fatigued, especially at the start of the game, but we worked through those issues to get the win," said Coach Rich Cooper. "We're excited to start our season with a 2-1 record and we're going to continue to improve."

Next up for the Runners will be a home match vs. Sussex County Community College on Saturday, Nov. 12th, at 12 noon.
