An air of excitement surrounds the Roadrunner Men's and Women's Cross Country teams as they prep for Saturday's NJCAA Division III National Championship Meet at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, AL.
The Runners captured both the Region 19 men's and women's titles on Oct. 28th for the first time since 2007 --- but they are looking for more glory heading into the big stage.
The Roadrunner cross country teams traveled to Long Island for their largest meet of the year so far, with 34 teams to face off against. Despite being rained on for the third week in a row, the teams fared well against their New York competition at the St. Joseph's Long Island Invitational. The top 50 in each race were award winners and RCSJ came home with 5 awards.
This past weekend, the cross country teams travelled to Richard Stockton University for the osprey Open. The meet featured a redesigned course providing plenty of spectator friendly views of the Roadrunners in action on a perfect weather day. Coach Hughes stated, "A highlight of the meet was seeing some group work by the roadrunners, we were working together and pushing each other through the race, helping everyone get some great times."
The Roadrunner Men's and Women's Cross Country teams conquered the challenging hills and heat of historic Belmont Plateau this weekend at the Philly Metro Small College Championships. The heat and humidity were staggering, so the RCSJ squad used this meet as a scrimmage/training run to get ready for the more important races later in the season.
The Men's and Women's Roadrunner Cross Country programs are ready to hit the ground running for their 2023 campaign. Both teams will open up their seasons this weekend at the Philly Metro Small College Championships at the historic Belmont Plateau in Fairmount Park, PA. The teams are led by some returning stars from last year as well as an infusion of energy from some new recruits.
