NJCAA DIII Championships Home Page: Boyer, Iuliucci Lift Runners to 7th Place National Finish at Chautauqua!

While the Roadrunner Men's Golf team brought home a seventh place overall finish in the NJCAA Division III Championship Meet at Chautauqua Golf Course (NY), make no mistake -- this club made a giant leap forward over previous years in competing against the top programs in the nation.

Coach Guy Davidson's club finished with 1265 points, which proved to be a remarkable 63 strokes lower than the 1328 score they achieved here in 2024.

Leading the way were freshman Julian Boyer, who carded a 308 total on the par 72 course over four rounds for an 18th place showing. He fell just shy of earning All-American honors on a match-of-cards against two other players.

"Julian (Boyer) showed a consistent effort throughout the tournament," said Coach Davidson. "Each of his four rounds of scores were in the 70s, so he was really on his game."

After shooting his first two rounds withe scores in the 80s, captain Nick Iuliucci rebounded with strong efforts in rounds 3 and 4 to finish in 24th place overall at 27 over. Following Iuliuccu among the RCSJ players was freshman Andrew Michalski, who placed 29th overall. Connor Eberly ended up in 38th place.

"We finished strong against a much tougher field of teams and players this year," said Iuliucci. "Everyone on the team gave a great effort."

The Runners tied with Butler County CC for a seventh place finish. It was the second straight season RCSJ has brought home a seventh place showing -- although this year's squad turned in considerably lower scores overall.

"This group of players and teams performed at a much higher level than in the past two years -- and we're proud that we matched their efforts to be competitive," said Davidson,

In the final team standings, the Sandhills flyers claimed their sixth NJCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship.

Sandhills swept the top three in the men's individual leaderboard. The top three included Vegas Melen, Wyatt Beaver and Landon Cabingas third while William Mitchell tied for 5th place to round out the top five. The win marks the fifth straight national title for the Flyers.

In the team standings, Georgia Military finished second and College of DuPage came in third.

Day 3 Rioundup

RCSJ golfer Julian Boyer has enjoyed a consistent and solid effort during this week's NJCAA Division III National Championships at Chautauqua (NY) Golf Course.

But the former Deptford standout, who played in several championship tournaments at DHS, has noticed a big difference between the high school and college matches.

"The tournaments here (in college) are much longer, so that's an adjustment," he said. "We're playing four days here at Nationals, and the high school tournaments were usually over with in one day."

Regardless, Boyer has led a very solid showing by Roadrunner golfers, who have improved the program's scores this seasonby lover 50 strokes at this point in the tourney.

Over the first three rounds on the Chautauqua course, Boyer has registered team-low scores of 78, 75 and 78.  He hopes he will continue that consistent showing on Day 4 in the final round.

"I'm playing the greens well and putting well, and that will be my goal in the final round," he said. "I just want to keep everything consistent."

Overall, Boyer looks forward to returning to the national stage in the future during his sophomore year.

"I enjoy the competition quite a bit -- it's tons of fun, and everyone here has been really nice," said Boyer. "This experience will definitely help all of us moving forward."

Day 3 Tournament Roundup

Captain Nick Iuliucci enjoyed his best round of the tournament on Day 3, shooting a 79, second best among RCSJ golfers.

On Day 4, Hayes Hulitt will be making his tournament debut in his last official round with the Roadrunner team, subbing in for Colin Pape, who tweaked his back yesterday.

Days 1 and 2 Roundup

The Roadrunner Men's Golf team has put themselves in a solid position to earn a top five finish in the NJCAA Division III Championships at Chautauqua Golf Course -- and Coach Guy Davidson is hoping his team can make it to the finish line.

The competition, however, will be tough in the final two days of competition.

The Runners currently sit in sixth place behind top five leaders Sandhills CC, Georgia Military, DuPage, Niagara County and Hudson Valley CC. With 56 points, they sit just 3 points behind Hudson Valley, the fifth place squad for now.

After two rounds, the current RCSJ leaders are freshmen Julian Boyer, who carded a 75 score, and Andrew Michalski, who has registered a 79. Following the leaders are Nick Iuliucci, Connor Eberly and Colin Pape.

"The competition this year has definitely ratcheted up from years past," said Coach Guy Davidson. "Every team has done well, and we are too. We're striking the balls wells and we have eclipsed scores that we've had here in the past.

"We're hoping to have a really good day today so we can sneak into the top five in the team standings."

Tournament Preview

Just three seasons ago, the Roadrunner Golf program sent two golfers --Freddie Ramos and alternate Cole Bruner -- to compete in the NJCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships at Chautauqua Golf Course in Chautauqua, NY, marking the first time in decades that RCSJ golfers competed in national competition.

Fast forward three years, and the Runners have emerged as one of the fastest growing men's golf programs in the country!

Yes, the success and growth of the program since that point are somewhat staggering to say the least. In 2025, Coach Guy Davidson's Roadrunner Men's team
won their third straight Region 19 championship while also laying claim to a third straight Garden State Athletic Conference crown. The women's team fielded a full roster in 2025 and qualified as the Region 19 representative to the National Championship meet!

The Runners Men's and Women's teams are now set to compete in the national meet. Please see the rosters below along with daily schedules and the tee times for the men's championship competition.

The tournament runs from June 4 through June 7 with team and individual champions set to be crowned. Tee offs are scheduled for 8:30 am daily.
