The Roadrunner Men's Tennis team captured the 2023 Garden State Athletic Conference championship Saturday afternoon. The team wrapped up their undefeated conference schedule with a 7-2 win over Ocean CC at home. This is the 8th conference title for men's tennis in the past 10 seasons.

"This has been a great season for ll of us," said sophomore Jason Petrin, a former Woodstown High standout who won singles and doubles matches to spark the win over the Vikings. "We have a lot of players back from last spring and we've been a tight-knit group all year. And everyone is committed to the program and making a deep run in the playoffs."

Head coach Brian Rowan, whose team is 9-1 overall in dual matches, notes that the a tough schedule has benefitted his players.

"We don't win all of our individual matches because of the competitive teams we've played," said Rowan. "But everyone has learned from these matches and they keep battling and improving. We should be ready to go when the Region 19 tournament begins."

The Region 19 tournament, won by the Runners last season, takes place April 28-29 at Mercer County Park.
