The RCSJ Track and Field teams took their talents to the Osprey Open this holiday weekend.  Despite the weather again being a challenge, with temperatures well below normal and a stiff wind the entire day, the teams returned back to campus with 25 season best performances as well as 15 NJCAA National Qualifiers.  The meet featured the largest contingent of JUCO competitors that the Roadrunners have seen at once this season, and we fared well in comparison.  Coach Hughes stated, "I am pleased with the efforts we continue to put in, but I am really looking forward to seeing what the team can do in good weather conditions!"  The next outing for the teams will be at the Middlesex College Invitational.  Highlights from this past weekend include:

• Chris Guerrieri took 2^nd place in the shot put with a nation leading throw (he also took 6^th in hammer and 7^th in discus)
• Mariella Farrell took 3^rd place in the discus with a nation leading throw 
• The women's 4x400m took 4^th 
• The women's 4x800m took 5^th with a nation leading time
• The men's 4x400m took 5^th as well
• Both the men's and women's 4x100m teams took 6th
• Mike Abate took 7^th in the grueling 10,000m event
• Khalif Horton was our top individual sprinter of the day with an 8^th place finish in the 400m
