Roadrunner Cross Country Surges at Philly Metro Championships!

The Roadrunner Men's and Women's Cross Country teams conquered the challenging hills and heat of historic Belmont Plateau this weekend at the Philly Metro Small College Championships. The heat and humidity were staggering, so the RCSJ squad used this meet as a scrimmage/training run to get ready for the more important races later in the season.

The women were led by freshman Courtney O'Hara in her first collegiate race, where she ran a very impressive time and easily finished as the first JUCO runner at the meet. Next up were veterans Mackenzie Cochran and Alexandra Campo. Rounding out the Roadrunner pack was freshman Madison O'Donnell.

The men were led by sophomore Anas Bensaoud who almost cracked into the top 25 of the race. Next up were Charlie Hepler and Gavin Casella, who impressed in his first collegiate outing. Finishing up the scoring for the Roadrunners were Derek Wyllie and Branden Lachowicz, also with his first race as a Roadrunner. Rounding out the flock were John Schilling and Darius Davis. The men's team finished in 8th place out of 16 teams in attendance.
