Cross Country Teams Compete @ Stockton University's Osprey Open

This past weekend, the cross country teams travelled to Richard Stockton University for the osprey Open.  The meet featured a redesigned course providing plenty of spectator friendly views of the Roadrunners in action on a perfect weather day.  Coach Hughes stated, "A highlight of the meet was seeing some group work by the roadrunners, we were working together and pushing each other through the race, helping everyone get some great times."

The women were once again led by Courtney O'Hara who again finished as the top JUCO athlete in the meet.  She placed 51st with an impressive 26:19 in her first ever 6k race.  Next up was Mackenzie Cochran who placed 85th in 29:15 which was about a minute improvement over her time at this race last season.  The remaining ladies ran well as a pack, with Ally Campo (93rd,)  Susana Serrano (94th,) and Madison O'Donnell (111th) all running faster their fastest times of the season.  The women's team placed 13th in the 16 team event and were the top JUCO team.

The men were led by Charlie Hepler who placed 54th in a new personal record time of 28:59 over the 8k course.  He was followed by a hard surging Gavin Casella who just missed breaking the 30:00 barrier in 70th place.  Like the ladies, the next group of men worked great as a pack early in the race to finish close together with Branden Lachowicz (82nd,) Derek Wyllie (90th,) and John Schilling (98th) rounding out the scoring for the Roadrunners.  Finishing up the pack, in an amazing 10:00 improvement over last week, was Darius Davis who placed 112th.  The men's team placed 10th in the 16 team event and were also the top JUCO team.

Next up for the Roadrunners will be the Jersey Blues Invitational hosted by Brookdale CC where both the men and women are the defending champions.
