The Roadrunners cross country teams travelled to the foothills of the Poconos this past weekend to face off at the challenging course at DeSales University.  Race day also presented the RCSJ team with their coldest, windiest, and wettest meet of the season so far; but the teams stepped up to the challenge and had some great performances. 

 

The men's team was led by award winner Anas Bensaoud with a 14^th place finish in a seasonal best time of 27:17 over the 8k course.  Charlie Hepler crossed the line next with a 29:23 over the tough course for a top 50 finish in 41st.  The Kingsway duo of Gavin Casella and Darius Davis placed 53^rd and 75^th , while Derek Wyllie and John Schilling both had season best times finishing in 30:53 /56^th and 32:04 65^th respectively.  The men's team placed 6^th in the 12 team race. 

 

The lady Roadrunners were once again led by Courtney O'Hara with a 26^th place finish in 26:38 after a week of recovering from illness.  The rest of the Roadrunner women all had amazing perfromances and set season best times in their final 6k race of the season.  Ally Campo placed 44^th in 29:48, Madison O'Donnell placed 46^th in 30:18, and Grace Wahl placed 78^th in 40:22.  The women's team did not score as a team this week due to scheduling conflicts, but both teams will return to action next weekend as they face their NY competition at Sunken Meadow State park on Long Island.
