Sophomore catcher Macenzie Long blasted a grand slam and drove in four runs among her three hits while teammate Sabrina Finneran knocked in three runs to lift the Roadrunner Softball Team to a 12-9 decision over visiting Delaware Tech Sunday afternoon in Game 2 of a doubleheader.
The win allowed Coach Steve DePasquale's team to gain a split after dropping the opener, 18-13.
In Game 2, the Runners exploded for nine runs in the second inning -- highlighted by Long's grand slam -- to build a commanding 11-1 lead at that point. Starting pitcher Mackenzie Ponto scattered four hits and allowed one earned run in two innings of work. Freshman Lacey Abrego earned the save.
