The Roadrunner softball team swept a doubleheader Friday afternoon vs. RCSJ Cumberland by scores of 9-0 and 13-2.

In Game 1, sophomore Macenzie Long collected three hits and two RBIs to spark a 9-0 victory in 5 innings. Teammate Kamryn Kennedy also added two hits and two RBIs.

Winning pitcher Lacey Abrego hurled five innings of scoreless ball, allowing no hits, striking out four, and improving her overall record to 3-1.

In Game 2, third baseman Victoria London, freshman Lacey Abrego, and right fielder Paige Fox knocked in two runs each to lead the 13-2 triumph in five innings. Sophomore pitcher Mackenzie Ponto recorded five strong innings to pick up the win.

The games were played at RCSJ Cumberland due to wet field conditions in Deptford Township, and the Runners were designated the home team.

The Runners, who improved to 8-3 overall, return home on Saturday to host County College of Morris in a twinbill that starts at 12 noon.
