Roadrunner Softball Splits Doubleheader with Lehiigh Carbon

The Roadrunner Softball team split a doubleheader vs. Lehigh Carbon on Saturday, March 26, winning the opener by a 21-7 score and dropping Game 2 by a 10-7 count. 

In Game 1, rightfielder Paige Fox collected 4 hits, 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored as the Runners rolled ro a 21-7 victory over the Cougars. Teammates Emily MacGibeney (3 hits) and Morgan Fitzpatrick (3 RBIs) also chipped in offensively.

The Runners fell behind 2-0 early but scored 10 runs in the first inning for a 10-2 lead, never looking back.

In Game 2, the Cougars scored early and often, grabbing a 10-3 lead in the third inning. Fox had another strong game with 2 hits and 2 RBIs, but the Runners lost the 10-7 decision. 

The Runners' record now stands at 9-10 as they look ahead to a busy weekend with games at Sussex CC Saturday, April 2,  and Monroe-Bronx on Sunday, April 3.
