The Roadrunner Softball team made key progress in GSAC competition when they swept conference and Region 19 rival Middlesex College 7-3 and 3-2 on the road to highlight Saturday action.

In Game 1, Julia Petroski collected a triple and three RBIs while teammate Paige Fox had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Runners to a 7-3 victory. Chila was also the winning pitcher, hurling seven strong innings.

In Game 2, Catcher Morgan Fitzpatrick and sophomore Selena Chila each collected two hits and an RBI to spark the win. The Runners held an early 2-0 lead with two runs in the first inning before snapping a 2-2 tie with a run in the top of the third inning.

Winning pitcher Kelliann Hammond allowed eight hits and two earned runs to keep the host Colts in check.

The wins improved the Runners' overall record to 20-13. Next up will be a doubleheader at home vs. GSAC rival Union County College.
